Hi, welcome to my journal. I was born in Peru but now live in the United States. I named my journal "From the outside in" because I feel that though I'm nearing the fifth decade of my life, I'm still a student and an outsider in many areas that I could still learn from and explore. Striving to capture images that appeal to me is, in a way, like opening a window and letting the world speak to my soul.

The written word is my preferred medium. My experience with photography, on the other hand, comes down to grabbing my point-and-shoot camera and letting it do its (preset) magic. I joined Blipfoto for the opportunity to learn about photography--actually, posting a photo journal forces me not only to read my camera's manual, but also to observe, to pay more attention to big and small details. I think learning to see with the eyes of a photographer directly or indirectly helps the eyes of the writer. In both cases, one must be aware of the moment, mind and senses engaged. In the end, this is what I want: to always be fully present in my life
