I'm a (just) post world war 2 baby from a medium-sized town in the Black Country - I have actually lived in the same house for my entire life so far, so I am a very boring person!
My father was quite a keen photographer, so I watched him taking photos and developing film from an early age, and I think I was allowed to press the shutter release several times myself before I reached the age of 5. The first camera I owned was an Agfa Synchro Box, which I think my father gave me for my 7th birthday, and I still have the camera.
Of course all my early photography was in black and white on roll film; I think it would have been about 1958 or 59 when we got my first 35mm camera, an Agfa Silette, and started shooting colour (10 ASA Kodachrome). My first SLR was the recently introduced Asahi Pentax S1a.
Over the years I have used quite a lot of cameras, and was an early adopter of digital. It has to be said that I've very rarely used film since about 2002 - it is just so much more convenient! My main Blip site has been around for several years now - it's micro43 if you want to take a look, and I post there nearly every day (I have accidentally missed about 4 days over the years).
Now I've decided to start posting some film photographs, and that's why I've started this new account. I shan't be posting every day, and as I'm not very good at record keeping and it can take a while to finish a film, the date shown on the back-blipped posts may not always be quite accurate.
