Asterix & Obelisk in Gaul

The Place de la Concorde is an entertaining spot in Paris at the best of times, but it is just magical when it lights up at night. I wasn't sure about the addition of this giant ferris wheel when I first saw it in daylight, but as soon as I saw it tonight, I loved it.

And in case you were wondering, yes I did have to stand in a traffic island in the middle of the road to get this shot. Talk about needing nerves of steel...!
