Ariki Sunset #5
My run this morning was a little late to capture sunrise, and the scenes that appealed at the time ultimately failed the acid test of comparison with an Ariki sunset. Even the progress photos from the building work came up short; poor choice of angles and composition I fear. My adviser, S (whose sense of colour, design, and all that, I would defer to), suggested one of the two pictures I took of Kawau Bay when we visited her mother and checked on the build. I was reluctant as they were taken from her cliff edge, not ours. (Picky, I know)
So when the beauty of sunset began I picked up the Pentax and took a series of pictures. I like this the best. The original shot had too much black foreground, which I have cropped out. Otherwise, this is what the camera recorded, which matches with what I saw.
I see the rays of light from the sun as being a promise that things will go well.
This is the fifth blip I have posted which has the sky at night as seen from our apartment deck.
