Vinyl
For my 21st my parents offered to buy me a kilt. Timeless.
I chose a stereo system instead. Technics, 100 watts, with a double tape, and most importantly a turntable.
I worked in town at weekends as a student. I spent my lunch breaks, and every penny of my wages, on second-hand records. The hairs on the back of my neck would rise with that little crackle as the needle dropped.
I still find them magical, but not as magical as the music they reproduce. Regardless of the form it comes in, I think every note is a taste of heaven.
