Cosy Pony

More torrential rain and sleet showers yesterday and last night, after the gales of the days before. There are huge pools of water on the roads and the water in the ditches at the sides of the road are overflowing.

Up at the ponies I have put down a lot of the old and rotten hay to try and dry up the gateway where they come to be fed. Their shed is knee deep in straw so at least they have somewhere dry to stand in there. This is Nimbus, in her newly repaired rug. The land is fenced with miles of barbed wire which shreds everything, but luckily I have found a retired chap who seems to be able to mend just about anything and very reasonably too!
