Rising sap

During its growing season this tree sheads it old bark to reveal the new bark underneath. The changing colours are always a pleasure and when the leaves emerge makes the perfect small tree.

Last night I went to the theatre the see Blood Brothers. Musicals are not my usual choice but I thoroughly enjoyed it and haven't witnessed so many people crying for a long time.
Tonight I'm off to see Lau, who I think are excellent, at The Met in Bury one of my favourite concert venues so I'm really looking forward to that.
