prodded
stomach talks again
more surreal than invasive
remembering Dad
A few backbiips. I've been in the Land Verizon Forgot for a few days.
My father young died of colon cancer. My docs have been prodding me to take this test since my mid-30s; so, off I go. A surreal day, remembered as a blur of various hues of grey, seen without my glasses and through a veil of stomach rumblings. I'm sure I should be embarrassed by this or something, but I just don't have that sort of false decency in me. A vital test, one I've been fighting insurance about for years while wishing Dad had had it sooner. If you need it; get it.
