snow day

Not really much of a snow day. It is pretty much all melted away now, but it was very pretty this morning at sunrise. This is really not even the best picture I took today, but I think it captures the joy a kid feels on a snow day. Actually Mr. W woke up very excited for his field trip to the fire station. He had laid his outfit out last night (portland fire shirt, portland fire hat, black pants, black shoes, and fire badge.) This morning he got all dressed to come downstairs and as he was walking down saw the snow. He had a complete meltdown. Huge tears and sobbing followed. I informed him that he gets to go to Daddy's fire station anytime he wants. The back up plan for the field trip is that Daddy will come talk to his class next week about fire safety. It took him awhile and after a call to Dad to discuss he was feeling better and was ready to go out and play in the fast melting snow. Big brother wasn't to impressed after all the snow they saw last weekend, he decided to stay inside and read his book. I am really proud of him. He is in the 2nd grade and is almost done with his first Harry Potter book. I'd like to think he gets his love for books from me!
