Stoatilly impressed.

Been a bit of a funny day. The man is off to London to do Londony things tonight and for the first time in as long as I can remember I don't have to be anywhere at any specific time for any reason whatsoever. So, just after lunchtime I tool the thing I was waiting in for yesterday and went out for a walk.

OMG! I am in love all over again. This lens is amazing. I've been using a Sigma 70-300mm until now and there is just no comparison. I can see further (don't know how but I can), I can shoot on hand held in much lower light levels (VR) and I can even take slow water shots without a tripod. Not surprising then that the walk took the best part of three hours!

Got a fair few images (first time I've filled my memory card in one day) and I've posted the first ones that I've processed here and here.

However, blip has to get the winner. I know it's over sharpened and cropped to sillyness but A STOAT and IN ERMINE too! I was at least 50 meters away and I saw this white thing dash across the railway embankment in front of me. I fired off a couple of shots not thinking I would get anything, but you can even see the black tip on his tail and the red where his coat is turning back to his summer colours. He fair made my day. What a wee beezer!
