Reunion

His Lordship and I were up early this morning to meet a cycling friend bussing in from London to stay with us so that we can travel up to Glenalmond tomorrow for our mutual friend's memorial service.

It's amazing how quiet the bus station is before 8am: just a huddle of homeless trying to keep warm at one end of the arrivals and departure hall and the yellow coated greeters and despatchers waiting idly for buses to appear.

Despite the sad occasion for our reunion, it was lovely to have a catch up gossip and hear all the news from the south.

We spent the morning eating, and this afternoon, after I had dragged Evelyn to the Scottish Museum for this blip, and round the Grassmarket and Princes Street Gardens in the sunshine, his Lordship has plied us with wine while we sit for the first time this year outside on the patio. Can life get any better than this?

It's grand to have a favoured guest in the house, and although tomorrow will be a very sad occasion, we will make merry tonight, if is Lordship has any say in the matter.
It's relevant to note that he took delivery 12 bottles of wine today and that's one of them gone already and it's only 4 o'clock .

I wouldn't be surprised if we're regaled by his rendition of Tam O' Shanter later on, which on reflection might be better than his recitation of 'There's a One- Eyed Yellow Idol to the North of Kathmandu'.
However at the rate we're going I might well be asleep by then.
