Trinity College. Evening.
Even though the days are quickly getting longer, still the best of the photographic light is gone all too early, so this is another evening shot, taken while I was on the way from somewhere to somewhere else (I'm a bit vague about the circumstances, since I'm back-posting this a week after the event).
Trinity College is one of Dublin's great landmarks. Quite apart from its history going back to the late 16th Century, its grounds provide a welcome oasis of calm in the heart of the city. Trinity is perhaps best known as the home of the Book of Kells, but its links to some of the great figures of irish literature are also very strong. This view shows one of a pair of sculptural pieces which stand on either side of the main entrance. This is Oliver Goldsmith.
