This Little Light of Mine

The above quote pretty much makes one of my favourite parts of this film :] I realise it's a kids film, I realise it's from 1994...but I love it :]

Although we never owned the film, some neighbours of ours did and my brother & I would borrow it from them on occasion to watch. I hadn't watched the film in years, then spotted it on DVD in HMV on offer a couple of months back. Guilty as charged, I bought it. My brother was staying with me last night so, aged 20 & 17, we sat down, stuck the DVD and watched it. It still makes me smile :]

My family have been up since Monday, so yesterday I spent the afternoon and evening with them. We went for lunch at the restaurant near my flat, which was v. yummy! Spent the afternoon around the area, then headed back to where they're staying to get fish & chips.

Mmmm!

I rarely get a chippy, but when I do - it just doesn't count unless there's a good sharing of "salt & sauce". Not red sauce. Not brown sauce. Sauce. Edinburgh chippy sauce. A mix of vinegar & brown sauce. So good! A chippy just isn't the same without it.

Although we didn't really do anything spectacular or monumental, it was nice to just be. I don't get to go home a lot, so it was nice to have a little piece of home here :]
