Drummer Hodge

I am not sure precisely what it is about Drummer Hodge that resonates so strongly in me. It has been a favorite poem for years. Maybe I'm riding the crest of poetry month preparations from work, but today when I got home from this long day, I just had to take a moment and re-read the poem (not recite, I wanted to see the words).

This photo is of a piece of art a friend made for me. It's theme is my Drummer Hodge, and inevitably, pugs. I love personalized art, don't you? All the time and energy someone put into carving beauty into the world specifically for you! I wish I was an artist, too.
