grilled bananas

This was taken at one of the service stops we made on our bus journey from Sisophom to Phnom Penh The lady is cooking banans over an open charcoal fire - a very hot job. Iut was hot and humid anyway yet she still looks cool as a cucumber Bananas cooked this way are available all over Cambodia. Stalls are set up on street corners even in tiny villages.Sadly I don't think the bananas taste as good as they look as though they should! They get very dry and burnt.Lots of Cambodian people like them though
Another thing to note about tis picture is the spotty trousers that she is wearing They are EVERYWHERE this year . the height of fashion I guess
