Today we spent the most money ever.

I wanted to go for an early swim but Jim had seen a car for sale for a price we could afford and was itching to go get it. A good thing, I think, it would probably have sold before we got to it if he hadn't got there early. Since the trundlewedge broke for the 6,000th time and Jims grandparents gave us a sizeable sum of money we have been investigating a less shit car, but on the sly. Because otherwise people give you advice and it's not normally helpful. For Example, Just because you have a child, does not mean you need a people carrier. Jim mostly drives to work in it. And we've survived with a Renaut Clio through the years when Mr Nut most needed a travel cot and buggy so I think we can cope now he travels light. And nothing on earth could induce us to buy another Renault. Of any kind. Or a Ford.

Then we went off to Ikea to see if we could push the spending over the 8 grand mark. Mr Nuts face lit up as soon as he saw the Giant 2 on the car park (and 3, and 4 as we went up a level) and Jim could not fathom out why he was so happy. The truth is all the things that make Ikea hell to us make it heaven for him. The bright lights! The crowds of People! The Endless tiny rooms for him to investigate! The Pancakes! (ok, I enjoyed the pancakes too) and he finally got his cake

He chose a bed and I chose a bed and I won because I'm the boss. And I chose a bookcase. And then we got all those tiny things you get from Ikea because they only cost 99p and they are called a snurgofflekopf and they add up to a total of ONE MILLION POUNDS. Then we went home and sent Jim back off to get the stuff we'd chosen so the crappy assed Clio got trashed not our lovely beautiful new Golf. Then we got the Golf and Finn loved it so much he didn't want to get out but luckily the octonauts was on telly so he had to.

He loved his new bed (which he filled with Daves and Makkapakkas) and room but at bed time with the lights out (apart frommr Bunny ) He felt a bit worried but we had some extra stories and we had some extra cuddles and a discussion that he could walk into the big room any time with a big boy bed and also his new duvet had bears on which would definitely eat any monsters and he went to sleep with an extra night light so so far so good.

Thus ends the Novel.
