Morning Glory (Kestrel)
Was up very early (for me) today and went down to RSPB Cliffe Pools for a wander before I went to get stuff in town. I was still feeling a bit miserable, and the foggy morning wasn't helping my mood, making it difficult to take photos of a decent quality.
We were just coming up to the last leg of the walk when I paused to look at some Canada Geese sat on an island. As we stood, commenting on the lack of anything else being mad enough to be awake I caught sight of a Kestrel flying towards us, which I duly pointed out. He then gave us a graceful glide past and alighted in the tree about 100 yards away, watching us curiously for a good five minutes before deciding we weren't going to do anything other than watch him right back and nipping off, probably to find himself some breakfast!
Mornings like this are why I love birding so much :)
