I Love Kitty

Today I wanted a picture of me and Kitty. I've been moving furniture for part of today, and look like some sort of cowboy in my checked shirt, with my flat hair from wearing a beanie hat...even though it's really a pretty bad picture of both of us (sorry Kit) I wanted one of us together, because I've been worried about Kitty recently and I wanted to show her she is my best friend (along with Tabby).

Kitty keeps coughing after she drinks, which although might be down to aspiration (breathing in the water), could be down to tracheal collapse...I've terrified myself looking on the internet about an affliction that mainly affects Pomeranian toy dogs...anyway to start to try to fix it (and having read a recommendation on the internet), I initially tried buying a rabbit water bottle and spent most of yesterday trying to get her to drink out of it.

Really, it was quite painful, I think Kitty was a bit fed up with it, and I felt quite a numpty trying (whilst telling myself that this would definitely slow down her drinking if she would just drink from it). I thought Kitty was quite bright and more intelligent than a rabbit...but this may have actually been the reason she wasn't playing ball.

I finally gave up, and Kitty has instead been bought a cat water fountain, the theory being that she might cough less if her head isn't craned round under a tap. She thinks it is quite good, though there is no way Tabby would lower herself to drinking from it (since a kitten Tabby has drunk only from a glass).

Hopefully Kitty will stop coughing soon or I think next Saturday she will have to go to the vet for some cough suppressant. They can rule out the tracheal issue with an x-ray, but are very reluctant to do this before trying asthma drugs, which I am very against...hopefully the fountain will fix her first.
