fifty not out
Today started in the most relaxed manner imaginable, asleep til around 8am. This is some achievement in our house. Breakfast finished at 10am, lordy take me to village fair! All well and good but we were scheduled to be out the door by 11:30am.
3 days ago big sister hit the big five-oh. She is not the sort of person who likes to make a big fuss, she went to work, had mentioned it to no one and when she walked in the next day wearing her 50 today badge, everyone was disappointed to not be able to have celebrated it. Anyway, she invited many friends and family up to a holiday house they have stayed in before by means of celebration and very nice it was too. Naturally she prepared about five different dishes to cater for everyone and we all had a great time.
She doesn't like being photographed either, three years ago I tried to get a portrait of her and her husband to celebrate their 25th. This was quite a tricky task but we eventually had about three ok-ish photos after more than 150 attempts, a pretty low strike rate, blame the photographer. But this is her at 50.
The house they had rented was pretty stunning, amazing view of the Forth, North Berwick was invisible today due to the weather. We had a walk along an extremely nippy windswept beach.
