Returning the cornets
My son was very poorly today and spent most of the day flaked out on the sofa.
The girls had piano lessons in the morning and after lunch we went to town to return the cornets that we hired way back in September. ("Please mum, can we learn to play the cornet - we promise we'll practice every day'). Yeah, yeah. They've been untouched since early November. Here they are en route to the music shop to return the as-new cornets.
Hubby's gone to Germany for the week and I told the girls that we wouldn't have roast dinner tonight (that's daddy's job). Oh - the look of horror on my youngest daughter's face. We ended up going to the supermarket to buy food for roast dinner. She said that she would make it.
When we got home, she spent the best part of an hour in the kitchen tidying up and cleaning before preparing the feast. She did nearly everything and even carved the chicken.
My other daughter has a friend over for a sleepover. Let's hope they don't stay up too late.
