Look after your teeth!

No lovely sunrise this morning, no lovely sunrise all day! A wet and miserable day, but as I was at work it wasn't the end of the world.

This is the cobalt chrome metal framework for a partial lower denture. We take an impression inside the mouth and the lab cast it up in plaster, and make up this metal skeleton, which then gets acrylic gums and teeth put on in the appropriate places. The clasps and rests help it sit firmly in place in the mouth, around any remaining teeth. They are lighter and thinner than solid acrylic dentures but take longer to make and cannot be easily adjusted or repaired if damaged. They are also more expensive!

What a lot you can learn through blip!

Been to a Stitch and Bitch in the village hall tonight - perhaps you would have preferred a nice bit of patchwork? I was doing some embroidery and sitting opposite someone knitting a sheep for a nativity scene! She's done the shepherds, but not knit their beards yet! Come and live in the Isles - mad as hatters, the lot of us!
