Robert The Bruce
Well, after the traumas of yesterday we had to sort out some car problems. As we were already heading to Stirling we managed to kill two birds with the one stone.
The garage that we went to is in Bannockburn so this was the perfect opportunity to head out to the bronze statue of Robert the Bruce on his war-horse. The statue is on the site of the Battle of Bannockburn which took place in 1314.
This amazing statue is enormous and there is so much detail which I hope you will be able to see. As usual I ended up deliberating over two photos. The other one was a close up of the two heads and you probably can see the detail a little more. The surprising thing about this one is that although I was disappointed that the sky was grey in a strange way it has acted like a backdrop. I don't think I have ever seen an image of the statue like this before. Usually the sky is bright blue.
You can see a little snow on the statue as we had a little snow fall last night.
