Abandoned building 11

The sun has been shining and it felt warm. Crocus and daffs almost open and lambs and calves frolicking in the fields.

Himself, who usually does the weekly shop, was not feeling up to it today so I ventured forth. Our local supermarket is small and rejoices in the name Super Valu. It was packed: old ladies having a chat in the entrance, old ladies having a chat by the newspapers, old ladies having a chat at the dairy counter, old ladies having a chat by the buns. Actually, whatever your age, having a chat is compulsory!! Shopping is not to be rushed and it's perfectly acceptable to comment to your fellow shoppers as you go round. It is de riguer to have  a chat at the cashout and perfectly acceptable to join in with the conversation going on in front or behind you in the queue. Topics of conversation can be quite varied - the weather never fails (it's always 'lovely' unless it's actually lashing), and today's offerings included Aoife's forthcoming communion, the chubby cheeks of a little lad in a pushchair and the state of the roads (shocking). I love it!!

A bit of low key stealth was undertaken to get today's blip. Yet another abandoned building belonging, I think, to two elderly sisters. They have a very nice cottage across the road. This was quite a substantial place in its time as there is a massive fireplace at each end, but now it is full of trees. I thought this pair of sash windows, still bravely clinging on to their colour (pinks and oranges are popular here, aren't they) were rather poignant, just propped up against a wall.

Son number 1 arrives tomorrow for a few days as its his half term - early morning airport run. Looking forward to seeing him.
