A Lot Of Hot Air
On Sundays in 1901 the newly built Central Hall was full to its capacity of 2000 and during the services this huge fan drew the excess hot air out through vents in the ceiling. The fan has not been used for several years as the numbers attending services fell.
It has become necessary to amalgamate the four Methodist congregations and, despite its excellent facilities, this lovely building is expected be sold at the end of the month.
This afternoon we had a last look around at all the areas not on public view.
