Big One

Meet Big One and Little One. Big One is the big bear. He has a special place in my nine year old Alana's heart - he is her first favourite bear and still spends every night tucked up in bed with her. I think she will always have Big One with her, wherever she goes.

Brought from Las Vegas by Aunty J when Alana was one, Alana gave him the name Big One. There was no Little One back then. It was a long while before we realised he must have been named from the Michael Rosen book, Bear Hunt...

We're going on a bear hunt,
we're going to catch a big one!

Big One got lost one day. Its stressful when your child loses their favorite toy. Luckily Dad found another Big One on ebay and thought Alana might not notice he was a different bear. Unluckily the replacement bear was a lot smaller than Dad had imagined.

Luckily days later we found original Big One again! He'd been tidied away into a cupboard at school. Little One became part of the toy family. He was easy to name.
