The man on the moon?
It was a teaching day today and the children were so pleased to show me the model of Neil Armstrong that they had been creating. You may notice the lack of features, but he is a work of art in the making. One of the volunteer Mums came in to help them with it and the expressions of concentration on the faces of these 6 year olds was just wonderful. They really enjoyed it.
It just made me realise (again) how much we rely on generous people who give up their time to help others. It meant I was free to teach the other subjects but every child in the class was able to make their own contribution to the masterpiece! This sort of practical art work is just as valuable as any other subject on the curriculum, so thank you volunteer Mums, Dads, Grannies, Grandads etc;
Maybe some of you might enjoy it too!
