With mountains like these

The wild West

After a quite exhausting day at work, I took my chance to explore unchartered waters, to the top of the hill behind Genova, on the edge of Palma. I've long stared at the statue that tops the hill, but found the road today and was treated to spectacular views of the Bay of Palma, Es Pla (the flat bit in the middle of the island) beyond, and out to sea. The wind was picking up and great towers of cloud piled up about me. A few brave mountain runners had gathered. I think they'll have returned drowned rats.

I 'escaped' to the mountinas of Mawdor in time for a quick coffee and hunt for a few treasures for Anna-Lia. It's a big birthday for her on Sunday in Sheffield, and her closest family are descending on her for a party. It chucked it down just after I had got my table at Paris, and waited until I got home before it started again in earnest. The cars tyres are slooshing past as I speak.

Just five pieces of glassware broken today! Two of them by me and involving a finger now limping on the keyboard. I'm so glad I didn't admonish the offender in the classroom today as his second test tube fell to the floor. Poor lad, quips from his friends were enough. And then I smashed a huge beaker and did the same when I got home. It bit back that time. Ouch. incoming!

I will get some other shots on the blog later. I was really tempted by b+w for this shot, but couldn't bear to part with that speck of blue!
