Amelie

This summer, a string of 'Films By Starlight' have been organised in The Dell at the Botanic Gardens. Essentially, a massive screen is erected and more than a thousand people turn up to enjoy a movie as the sun goes down.

The screening tonight was of Amelie, which is one of my favourite movies. The atmosphere only served to amplify its charms - there's something magical about this many strangers silently enjoying something together, and laughing and gasping at the same moments.
