In That Moment

Bring Me Back

these are things that i know
bring me back to you

it is said by some that penguins lead sad lives. i believe that this penguin can lead no better, happier life than this because of the joy he brings, the secret he holds inside.

nightswimming

deep breath.
cotton slides down tanned legs
clothes litter the ancient planks,
bare skin caressed by a warm breeze.
are you ready?
are you?
1, 2, 3
splashes ripple in the velvet night,
squeals peal against the holy silence.
a scandalous display of youth and vigor,
an airy defiance.
bodies strain, enveloped in cool water.
a plastic penguin becomes a trophy, a bond
naked and permanent
sealing friendship.

he smiles, mysteriously, gloatingly, because of what he has seen and will not tell. he cries for those, loved so well, that are far apart - still united by a common experience, a single joy, a stone-solid friendship.
a memory.
