Celebrations

Actually this is not a celebration for all the favourites and stars showered upon yesterday's chanced upon blip of a western sky! But this is the feast of the Chura Karan or Nahutpa ceremony we're covering today. This has been performed either for nameshake or in pomp and grandeur (whichever one wishes) when a child attains three years or five years of age.

In more extreme cases, one day before the ceremony, one can also hold an Adhivas ceremony (prelude) in the evening to herald the big event the day after. It was on such a day of coverage i.e. yesterday that we stumbled upon your favourite red sun!

Today, after, the ceremony, drive down to Nambol, Bishnupur District and found a lot of red, yellow and white suns against trees, hills and mountains! Got several versions of the same before the sun finally sink behind the mountains! However, retain them for the sake of avoiding redundancy, eh?
