Beautiful Bovine

One of the 'Beamish Shorthorns' built by Sally Matthews, the Beamish Shorthorns, constructed from parts of old JCB diggers contentedly graze by the side of the Consett and Sunderland railway path (part of the Coast 2 Coast cycle route).

I had absolutely no idea that these historical creatures were practically living on my doorstep. Some days it's a challenge to create an interesting shot or to pick a subject that I think other fellow blippers would be interested in seeing. Even though nature inspires me, it's not always feasible for me to get out and about, which is why an awful lot of my shots recently have been of random object that I've found lying around the house. A subject which does interest me is Public Art and Urban Sculpture. After reading up on this topic I've realised that there are endless possibilities for my daily journal. In fact the University of Northumbria researched this and found that there are 450 public sculptures distributed across the North-East of England, the most well known being the Angel of the North. Therefore I have set myself a goal to document at least one of these sculptures each week. I have already done the Civic Heart, the Angel of the North and the Tyne River God so this will be my fourth instalment. I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by to take a look :)
