They're still making cast iron products here, been doing it for a long time, I always wonder how they can compete with the more modern plants in India, China and those places with cheap labour. Reminds me of the smell in my old school, across the road from The now deceased Carron Company, that peculiar iron founding odour, mixed with the fragrance of toffee from McCowans. Heady blend..
