The creeper

This is the remains of a plant known as bind weed or bell bind. It is dormant in winter but during summer is a rapid climber. Although producing attractive flowers it's usually unwelcome in gardens because of it's choking effect on other plants. It is also very difficult to get rid of because it's seeds can be viable in the soil for decades.
