Fulmar, Tantallon Castle
Molly & Ruth are both sick with some kind of pukey winter bug, so the boy and I escaped half term cabin fever with a trip to Tantallon Castle up the coast from Dunny.
This was the best of a great many attempts to capture one of the fulmars which nest in the cliffs below the castle. They're so fast, and such expert flyers, that your camera's AF (or mine at least) struggles to keep up. They perform these effortless 180 degree turns in mid air, and skim along inches from the cliff face. One of my favourite seabirds.
