Valentine's Day Rose

A lovely American Beauty taken from my wife's Valentine's bouquet.

I set this up against a dark background in a darkened studio and "painted" the light onto the stem and petals of the rose. This techniques produces omnidirectional lighting that gives the subject the appearance of glowing from within.

I also used an original LensBaby for this shot which resulted in an interesting trial & error process that produced a few pleasant surprises.

So... I've been hella busy this week and I'm about a week behind in Blips. I've been shooting everyday, just haven't had time to post. Stay tuned for a flurry of "Back-Blips" coming shortly...
