I got a nice big box of chocolates today - from my Dad!

He has given my sister and I something for Valentine's Day for as long as I can remember. It reminds me that God, our heavenly Father, loves to lavish gifts and love on us as well! Whether we have someone special to share today with or not, we can know that God loves us unconditionally, today and forever.

I wrote a poem yesterday, feeling the need to write something about Valentine's Day, which I will share with you:

A Valentine
Is not an assumption
A prize, a destination;
It's not a cheap bouquet
Or throwaway words.
It is not a rose that fades
And dies in seven days -
It is the rosebush;
Growing, flourishing, alive.
It isn't ideas or dreams
But actions, conversation.
It isn't cheese -
It's you and me.
