1. A grey and damp Monday lit up by little bursts of red all over the city. Bunches of roses, red velvet chocolate boxes tucked under arms and helium balloons bobbing on every corner.

2. There are flowers and chocolates and balloons but they don't compare to the valentine inspired Blips I read today. Sweet and loving insights and thoughts filled with so much warmth and love.

3. This is a photo of the heart shaped pendent, handmade with love and given to me for valentine's day. It's beautiful and feels smooth to the touch. It catches the light and sits delicately at just the right length at my throat. A gift that has made my heart swell.

4. There was a valentine's rhyme we used to write on cards when we were wee. You'd say 'I love you' IDT INDT. It meant 'if destroyed true, if not destroyed true'. It meant indestructible love. My brother and his wife kind of live by this simple little message. It's their code, their language.

5. Yes, it's commercial, schmaltzy nonsense (if you want it to be) and yes we shouldn't need Hallmark to remind us to tell each other how much we love them. But at the heart of it, days can be lit up, romance can bloom and words of love can float up and carry you along. IDT INDT.
