Erin.

Today has not been an easy day.Jack and Erin woke asking for their Daddy and I had to explain to them about their Great Grandad, obviously they don't understand fully but I told them that he had gone to heaven to be with Nanny which made him happy, but it made us sad because we wouldn't get to see him for a long time.

They also had the added sadness of their preschool closing today and so they are losing teachers, 2 that they have grown especially close to. It was only down to these two ladies that Jack started to want to go instead of asking me not to leave him. One of them even turned up at their party in full fancy dress which was so special to them and they are going to miss seeing so much of her. The changes that these women have brought out in my children is wonderful and although I know she doesn't want to see them with them there will be polly perches (sulky lips) in this house when the children fully realise they don't go back.

Darren is now home and it is a somber house, watching someone you love die must be awful even if you know it is better for them we want them to stay for us.

For those of you who believe make of this what you will, this morning Jack and I were in the front room and Erin came running in from the bathroom asking who had said her name. We hadn't spoken.

"Is it Daddy, is he home, he said my name and now is he hiding"

I explained no-one had said anything and Daddy was still away,

"Yes they did I heard him, he said Erin"

She went back off then but 3 more times she came in asking who was talking and making the noises. Nothing had been said.

When Daddy was home she told him she had heard it and that it sounded like "he" was talking in the washing machine (echo?) and it scared her. Daddy told her it was nothing to be afraid of and that it was probably Grandad just telling her goodbye.
"Oh ok then" she replied and was fine.

This is her today laying watching the tv like a cat in the only bit of sunshine.
