Oh I do like to be beside the seaside

We've had a fab day today. We came to Scarborough to take some things for my godson who arrives from Australia, with my oldest friend, on Thursday (VERY excited doesnt cover it!) Katie stayed awake for the whole journey here (quite a long one) as she knew she was seeing her grandparents,, which is where we headed after dropping everything off.
We had a nice coupe of hours playing, theyd bought Katie some new toys so she has been exploring those, although her favourite "toy" was an old keyboard that she found and claimed. We had brunch, good old English breakfast, which she picked at, before getting down to go back to more playing.
After brunch we went out for the afternoon. It was a little drizzly but she was well wrapped up. I thought she was going to go to sleep so put her in the buggy, but she didnt, so she got out again. She walked all the way through the Northstead Manor Gardens, past the open air theatre, down to the North Bay. She walked along the promenade. For a little while. Until she demanded to go onto the beach. She had a great time trying to run after the dogs and was loving rolling on her tummy in the sand! Grandad explained to Katie that she has a heritage of champion 'bay to bay, round the castle head' swimmers - he thinks that explains why she was so determined to try get into the sea. Mummy (spoil sport) wasnt that convinced. She walked along the promenade some more, up and down all the ramps she could find, in every puddle she could.
We went for a coffee and she was trying very hard to dance on the table. Again, spoil sport Mummy said no. She sat in the buggy for a little bit and we went to Peasholm Park to feed the geese and ducks. Mummy was very excitedto find a gorgeous deep green duck, the whole thing was emerald green and beautiful. Poor thing only had one eye though.
Slightly inconveniently, Katie flaked in the car and refused to wake for half an hour after we got back. She's had her Sunday tea and is now charging round the lounge, throwing and chasing a ball, swaddling her doll and lying her down on a bed, running for some more time with the ball, back to the baby!
