The Devil Is In...
... the detail. Or the alcohol.
After Friday night's brilliant dinner party, my flatmate Simon and I sat up a little while longer (well it seemed silly not to finish off the open bottle of wine, since it was already open) and then we spend about an hour hunting through boxes of CDs for one specific track and of course the best thing for that is gin and/or vodka...
So most of Saturday was spent asleep. Or hungover. Or both, the combination of which it turns out is not known as 'a sleepover' (See what I did there? Thank you very much, I'm here all week!)
Anyway as I lay in bed waiting for the thumping in my head to stop, I realised I'd spent the last twenty minutes staring at the lightshade. It's just one of those paper ones but as I stared at it it began to look more like a glowing block of wood. And then I began to see a cliff-face made of some exotic rock, like some alien kind of sandstone or something.
It's amazing what creativity a person can manage when they're incredibly stupid-ass drunk. Which is a shame because I so very rarely drink, and the killer headache reminded me why...
