Smile!!

I was so tired walking down and up the slippery slope
of the Northington Ferry Trail.
The Cape Fear River was very still and the droplets of rain
hitting my raincoat,
I stepped down the slippery slope
looking through the still River.
Peace!! Very Peaceful indeed!!
No birds, No animals around!! Stillness in the air!!

Am all alone on that trail and at the riverbanks!!
It's raining hard now, soon it's changing to snow,

Memories came back to me,
Memories I kept within myself,
Memories of us walking down the trail,
Happy memories, I wish for him to be here
but his time has gone and
Now my time to not look back
But to move forward that's what he wanted
for me to do ...

Walking back from the trail soaked in rain,
my feet is getting tired,
I looked up, there it was a "SMILING TREE"
staring straight at me,
greeting me back,
telling me that all will be alright,

Just smile!! You'll be alright!!
I left behind my sadness and the hurt I felt
down that river, and I let it flow down the stream.

Just smile!! I'm gonna be alright!!!

Definitely make my day!!
