Attack of the Killer Hair Piece....

.....woke to a great birthday gift from Nancy and Owen, a 4 day trip to vibrant Berlin in May; probably the best birthday gift I've ever received. Thank you lovely, thoughtful family. I was also served warmed bread (toast in my language), butter and honey with strong coffee in bed. Inevitably I've now got crumbs where I don't want them.

Judo for Owen, followed by a rare weekend trip with Nancy. She'd broken from her studies to join us on an afternoon trip to my favourite wee corner of the Borders at Dawyk Gardens...a place which is good for resting my soul (or something suitably profound and zen). Stopped briefly in Lamacha (Peebleshire not Toledo) to visit my nephew and sister.

Then on to Cardrona (Peeblehsire not Catalonia.....what is it about Peebleshire and Spanish town names?) for another surprise with an evening of relaxation in the spa hotel. Briefly watched Scotland forget to turn up at Murrayfield against Wales, but my birthday was soon back on track in the spa and a lovely meal.

All in all, a great birthday, thanks again N and O.
