Well, it's been chucking it down all day so far but I decided to take the dogs for a long walk across Chapel Common anyway, armed with a cunning plan to avoid the muddy bits. So much for that then - all bits are muddy in this weather. I wasn't expecting to see many other fools out today but was surprised to see quite a few; although less surprised that they were all, without exception, dog walkers.

I took my little camera with me just in case I bumped into the Shetland cattle which live on the common but apart from a huge pile of dung there was no sign of them. However, when we got back to the car there was a group of cattle right by the fence eating away merrily in the torrential rain. Mission accomplished!
