Cycling
Have had a thoroughly lovely day today :-)
Lazed in bed with the papers, coffee and a bacon butty, then Son One said he'd like to go out on his bike. Last time I saw him ride it, he was distinctly lacking in confidence, couldn't stop without falling off, and going in a straight line was out of the question. TPD took him out last weekend though, and said he'd improved hugely.
He wants to start cycling to school, which will mean me having Son Two hooked up in the trailer, so as it was a nice day we decided to head off for a family cycle round the old airfield on Hatchett Moor.
TPD went out to sort the bikes out, and discovered that whilst everyone else was sorted, his saddle was attached to his other bike. Which is still in my folks' garage, from when he was staying with them. Son One said he should be made to ride it without as punishment..
Son Two was clearly delighted with the trailer, and sang away the whole way round (3 miles). Son One was frankly BRILLIANT. Could not believe the change in him! Though there was one hilarious moment when he fell off full length into a heyoooge puddle. He was soaked!
Stopped off for lunch at the very excellent Turfcutter's Inn at East Boldre, pie, mash and a pint of Ringwood Fortyniner for me (great diet food ;-)), then drove home along the Bolderwood Arboretum Ornamental Drive.
Pic above was taken by TPD (who followed us round on foot!). It might not look like it, but Son Two is definitely in the trailer!
