Ticking Away the Moments

Sixways again

Sixways again for the last home game before the dreaded playoffs.

We usually go in through the shop, even though we've probably got more than enough Worcester Warriors branded stuff now! This is all part of the big new stand which went up in 2008, taking capacity to just over 12,000.

Today was the last home game of the season, one more away game then we start the play-offs. Really stupid system, play all season then the top 8 teams have to play another mini-league:

Play-offs:
The first, fourth, fifth and eighth placed clubs enter Playoff Group A; the second, third, sixth and seventh placed clubs enter Playoff Group B. Each side plays the other sides in their division home-and-away. The two highest placed sides in each division go through to a single-leg semi-final, and the semi-final winners play a two-legged final.

This year in the promotion phase:
The top two clubs at the end of the regular season will start the play-off on 3 points.
The third- and fourth-place clubs will start on 2.
The fifth- and sixth-place clubs will start on 1.
The remaining two clubs will start on 0.

So Worcester have already won the league as we can't be caught, but might still not win promotion back to the Premiership.

We won today 39 - 25 but let them score 4 tries in the last 20 minutes, think a few of them went to sleep. Let's hope they don't do that in the play-offs!
