Young and Daft.
The long awaited match day arrived. Off to Fife to watch the derby between Cowdenbeath (The Blue Brazil) and Dunfermline (affectionately known by fans of the Blue as the Townies). First hald was a typical Scottish game; lots of hard tackles and an even greater number of long, high hopeful balls up the middle. Not such a great idea on the part of the home side though as they looked like we boys compared to the full timers of Dunfermline. However they hung on until half time.
That was pretty much it though. Dunfermline walked all over them in the second half - albeit with a dodgy goal after the ref failed to call an off-side. Am not going to repeat the final scoreline here.
Anyway, had hoped to catch some interesting photos of the crowd, but the seating arrangements (in the stand - far too sad to head for the terraces these days) put me next to half a dozen coppers. To be fair they were probably more interested in the group of guys on the far side of me who were goading the Dunfermline fans behind the barrier on the other side, but I decided that the camera was probably best in the bag.
I did get this one of the man in front of me before I put it away though. He and a few others around me were not at all happy with the jibes that were emanating from THAT section of the crowd but as the bobby said to one of them, "We've all been there. They're just young and daft."
PS as for the image - have absolutely no idea how to get in a shot with such high contrast without losing everything in the lighter areas. All suggestions welcome!
