surely you can see

This was my view at something like 7:15am today, on my way to a medical center in Parma (you know that suburb of your metropolitan area that no one really likes?) to get gastroscoped. The scopy wasn't that bad, although waiting over an hour for it with an IV wedged in my arm could have been better.

Afterwards I spent the whole day half-drunk from the sedatives, watching tv on Laura's computer - one episode of Red Cap, three of Hotel Babylon and one of Entourage, for the record.

Which was a huge contrast from yesterday evening, when I had the pleasure of exploring the portfolio of an acquaintance. It's amazing to see great photographic work from someone who lives in the same world and breathes the same air as me, and it gives me hope for my own photo-future. It's a very different experience from viewing 50 years in the life of a weird, dead, impossible-to-live-with-while-he-was-alive genius summed up in a 100 page book (yes, I read a book on Edward Weston recently). Photography is possible!

Today all I saw is that Tamzin Outhwaite has gotten kind of...leathery in the past few years.
