...in yellow planes, entertained the crowd at Sumner beach while we awaited the arrival of the competitors in the Coast to Coast multi-sport event.

Richard Ussher was about 7 minutes outside of the record, I understand, finishing the one day event at around 5.42pm. They start from Kumara Beach on the West Coast at 6am.

There is absolutely no shame for those who took 2 days to complete the course!!

Interesting to see how some spring off their bikes and run to the finish line, while others can hardly move and you can feel their pain just looking at it.
