Life or Death

15 Years of Life I have lived
and this is what I should celebrate.
Set aside the wordly wants, the presents, the unimportant things.
15 Years of Life He gave me
and this is what I'm thankful for.

and today in our school,
a life ended in a short 18 years or less.

I come into things expecting too much
But this is not the correct way to go about things.
I must come expecting nothing
So that I always receive more than I expect.

Be grateful, Melody, for what you have.
It doesn't matter if today wasn't the best birthday ever, and you didn't get what you wanted or, rather, expected.

Because
What I have is Life
and life is love, and love is God, and God is everything beautiful.
