The Palace

Have been to the flicks tonight to see the much acclaimed 'Kings Speech' and the Palace Cinema at Longridge seemed the right place to go and watch it. The Cinema is very retro and they play the national anthem before the main feature. This picture house is no swish multiplex with sanitised fittings and extortionate prices for popcorn. £4.50 for an adult, £2 for large popcorn, 50p for a mug of tea that you can take in the theatre, double seats at the back for a good old fashioned smooch and a house manager that wears a suit. Place was packed and they were turning people away. The cinema has had many uses it was once a weaving shed, night club, bingo hall, roller disco.

Picture qualities a bit naff on an old 'ish' digital compact. Apologies
